Nashville, TN – July 24, 2025 – With deep reverence for church tradition and a passion for raising up the next generation of worship leaders, Ezra Worship Initiative releases their newest single, “Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah / Oceans (Where Feet May Fall),” available everywhere July 25 through NRT Music.
Blending the timeless lyrics of the 18th-century hymn “Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah” with the soaring refrain of Hillsong UNITED’s global worship anthem “Oceans (Where Feet May Fall),” Ezra Worship Initiative introduces a worship experience both grounded in rich theology and lifted by modern musical expression. Arranged by Kyle Kicker and featuring vocalists Taylor Jones and Anne Elise Sherrod, the medley serves as a moving bridge between generations of believers.
This release honors two distinct yet influential worship movements—Hillsong and Indelible Grace—paying homage to writers Matt Crocker, Joel Houston, Salomon Ligthelm, and hymn lyricist William Williams, while introducing the hymn’s beauty to a new generation. The musical pairing is both seamless and Spirit-filled, drawing listeners into deeper trust and dependence on God’s presence.
“This project reflects our heart as an Initiative,” shares the Ezra team. “To hold fast to the rich foundations of the church’s worship history while forming a new stream of Spirit-led creativity that can serve the church today and tomorrow.”
The Ezra Worship Initiative is a 10-week seminary-based internship and collective that exists to disciple young worship leaders through biblical teaching, audio training, and intentional musical development. The Initiative is also a growing songwriting community producing fresh worship music rooted in scripture and crafted for the modern Church.
